All Women of the parish and their friends are invited to a spiritual enrichment day. Our special focus for the day will be experiencing the peace of God. Msgr. Knox will be presenting along with three parishioners from St. Pat’s. Our gathering will help you to connect your faith to everyday life. In addition to the talks and discussions, we will have an opportunity for some quiet reflection time, a nice lunch, all in a relaxed atmosphere.
Please register as soon as possible and invite family and friends to join you!
The schedule for the day is as follows (brief discussion time after talks):
9:00 a.m. Gathering (Coffee and light breakfast) and Opening Prayer: Msgr. Steve
9:30 a.m. “The Faith Journey: Finding God in the Joys, Struggles, Successes and Sorrows of Life”:
Alyce Poziombka. Alyce’s talk will help us get in touch with our own faith journey. We come to know God’s peace through the Church and the people in our lives, through the joys and struggles of life, and through prayer. St. Augustine said: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.
10:30 a.m. Break
10:45 a.m. “Finding Strength and Hope in Jesus During the Storms of Life”: Sandy Smith
The Cross is part of life (so too is the Resurrection!). Our faith connects us to the heart of Jesus who breathes into us a spirit of hope and strength in facing the storms of life. In Romans St. Paul said, “Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.” Sandy will reflect on this in light of her
journey of faith.
11:45 a.m. Lunch
12:45 p.m. “Prayer and Scripture as a Pathway to Peace of Mind and Heart”: Charity Davis
If we’re going to stay strong for the journey of life, we’re going to need the spiritual nourishment that comes from prayer and God’s Word. Charity will reflect on the importance of prayer and scripture in light of her faith story.
1:15 p.m. Quiet Time with Scripture
2:00 p.m. “Dealing With Anxiety, Worry, Fear and Stress in a Spiritually Healthy Way”: Msgr. Steve Knox
Most people have some struggles with the elements in the title of this talk. Jesus had a great deal to say about how to live our lives in a balanced, spiritually connected way. We’ll explore the wisdom found in the scriptures that can help us find more peace and balance.
2:45 p.m. Closing Prayer and Reflection: Msgr. Steve Knox
