Become Catholic (RCIA)
RCIA Informational Session
“While from behind, a voice shall sound in your ears: ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” -Isaiah 30:21
During the summer, many have journeyed near and far for vacations. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey too–one of faith. If you, or someone you know, has felt a nudge to embark on this spiritual journey towards Catholicism, then RCIA may be right for you. Join us on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 pm in the Fr. Carse Center at the Downtown church for an informational session about the RCIA process. Let our team help you discern whether God is calling you into full communion with the Church. For more information, please contact Pam at 630-365-2289 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for those who desire to become Catholic.
This communal process is for:
- Adults who have never been baptized
- Adults baptized in a non-Catholic church but now desire to become Catholic
- Adults who were baptized Catholic but who have not received the Sacraments of Holy Communion or Confirmation.
Classes begin in the Fall for Candidates and Sponsors. We have a great team of teachers who will be presenting on the teachings of the Catholic Church. Participants will enter fully into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil which will be celebrated on Holy Saturday evening in 2018.
Each participant will have a sponsor who will support them their faith journey. The sponsor needs to be a fully initiated practicing Catholic. If a candidate does not have someone to ask, we have parishioners who would be honored to serve as a sponsor.
For more information on the RCIA program, please contact Pam Purcell at 630-365-2289 or at email@example.com.
We’d be happy to walk with you on your faith journey!
