Hesed House (Homeless Shelter)
Hesed House is a shelter for the homeless in Aurora. Many churches are involved in this ministry.
Each night an average of 195 men, women and children come to Hesed House seeking a place to sleep, do laundry, eat a meal and find medical and legal assistance. St. Patrick’s Day of Service is the first Wednesday of the month in February, April, October and December. Three shifts of volunteers serve for four hours. Other parishioners volunteer to bring food donations for the meals.
St. Patrick will provide food on February 3 and April 7, 2021.
On these days breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by St. Patrick’s parishioners.
Reminders will be sent out. Please bring your Food Donations to the Fr. Carse Center, lower level of the St. Patrick’s Downtown Church by 2:00 p.m.
A special Thank You to everyone who donated food and/or their time to Hesed House this past year. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
We would like to update the volunteer list for Hesed House for February 3 and April 7 of 2021.
Are you still interested in donating? If you no longer can donate or if you want to change what you are donating, please let us know. It is important that we know as soon as possible if you are not going to continue to donate so that we can plan for these upcoming dates.
We are also looking for more people to donate food, so, if you are able or know of anyone who might be interested in donating, please have them contact us.
We are in need of yogurt, small bags of chips, pre-packaged individual cupcakes or cookies, muffins, bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit or fruit cups, coffee, milk, coleslaw,
baked beans, mustard, ketchup, relish, hard-boiled eggs, and frozen chopped onions.
For all of the past volunteers, thank you for your prior food donations. Thank you and God Bless You.
