Become a Catholic
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for those who desire to become Catholic.
This communal process is for:
- Adults who have never been baptized
- Adults baptized in a non-Catholic church but now desire to become Catholic
- Adults who were baptized Catholic but who have not received the Sacraments of Holy Communion or Confirmation.
Classes for Candidates and Sponsors begin on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Downtown Fr. Carse Center (lower level). First night is inquiry and introduction of the journey of becoming Catholic. We have a great team of teachers who will be presenting on the teachings of the Catholic Church. Participants will enter fully into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil which will be celebrated on Holy Saturday evening in 2019.
Each participant will have a sponsor who will support them their faith journey. The sponsor needs to be a fully initiated practicing Catholic. If a candidate does not have someone to ask, we have parishioners who would be honored to serve as a sponsor.
For more information on the RCIA program, please contact Pamela Purcell at 630-365-2289 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’d be happy to walk with you on your faith journey!
