Dear Friends in Christ,

I would like to welcome you to St. Patrick Parish!   As a pastor, I have always believed that parishes should have an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality. It’s oftentimes a cold world out there, and of all places on earth, the Church should be a place where we experience the love and peace of Christ.   The Church needs to be a place where everyone counts, because we are all created with equal dignity, and all are children of God.

As pastor, I will do my best to be a good shepherd for this community of faith.   Helping to foster an atmosphere of welcome and warmth is one of my main goals.   When life long members and newcomers feel spiritually at “home,” then the Lord can do great things in our lives.   We all have a deep spiritual need to feel at home, and it is in God’s house that we are all welcome. A welcoming spirit always starts in the Lord, and then must shine through the lives of the parish priests, and then radiate from the parishioners.

If you are new to the parish, I hope you find in St. Patrick’s a place you can call home.   If you have been in the parish for some time now, may the Lord help you continue to grow deeper in communion with him, and with his Body, the Church. Jesus came to bring us life and we experience the divine life through his Word and through the Sacraments.   He has so much to give us but we must be open to his grace.   If we are, he will do great things in our lives.

May the Lord bless you and your family, and may the Lord bless our parish family here at St. Patrick’s!
